Lingonberry (Vaccinium vitis-idaea)

Short, evergreen shrubs provide edible red fruits.  Plants are cold hardy.  Leathery green leaves turn yellow-bronze in fall.  Pinkish white flowers.  Red fruits are quite tart, and usually eaten cooked.

Sun: Full sun.

Soil: Well-drained, very acidic soil with a pH of 4.2-5.2.

Water: Water deeply. The water will seal off any air pockets around the root ball.

Zones: 2 to 10.

Height/Spread: Lingonberry plants grow to 1 to 2 feet high and up to 9 inches wide.
