JAPANESE VARIETIES

AKANE (Malus domestica) - Attractive apples, also known as Tokyo Rose. Their crisp, juicy, flavorful flesh makes them great for fresh eating. They are also useful in salads, desserts, and are a good apple for drying. They were developed in Japan in 1937 as a cross between Jonathan and Worcester Pearmain.

LIBERTY (Malus domestica) - Liberty apple fruit have yellowish-red skin and crisp, white flesh. They are sweet-tart to the taste and good for eating fresh and baking. The cultivar originates from Geneva, New York, and was developed in 1955 specifically to be a disease-resistant variety. ​

Mutsu- , also known as the Crispin apple, is a medium to large green apple with a white to greenish yellow flesh. They can be round, oblong, or conical, and are usually not uniform in shape or size. They have little to no russeting, and when present, it's light gray to brown.Flavor= aromatic, sharp, sweet, and juicy. They're good for eating fresh, cooking, or in salads.  They retain their shape well when baked and can be stored for up to three months. They're also a good choice for adding depth to cider blends.

Amrbrosia= Light Yellow skin with reddish undertones. Nice flavor. Medium crisp.

WILLIAM’S PRIDE (Malus domestica) - An early-maturing, attractive, dark red apple. They are tart and sweet, crisp and juicy.

Sun: Full sun.

Soil: Well-drained soil.

Water: Water newly planted trees deeply every 7 to 10 days during warm, dry weather. After year one, normal rainfall is enough.

Height/Spread: A standard Williams’ Pride apple tree can grow to approximately 25’.

COLUMNAR

NORTHPOLE (TM) Columnar (Malus domestica) - A unique variety. Spring blossoms of pure white flowers yield heavy crops of large, red, McIntosh-like apples that ripen in September. Crisp, juicy, sweet and aromatic, Northpole apples are great for fresh eating, cider, and baking.

SCARLET SENTINEL™ Columnar (Malus domestic) - This apple tree blooms with bright white flowers followed by greenish-yellowish-reddish fruit. The fruit is very juicy and sweet. It is the most compact variety of columnar apple, which makes it great for small gardens, big pots, or as a part of your edible landscape #eatyouryard. Scarlet Sentinel™ is very resistant to apple scab. Codling moth can create wormy apples and aphids can damage the foliage of apple trees.
