Great low-maintenance berry shrub. Easy to grow and prolific. Deciduous shrub with large, reddish-purple fruits.  Fruits taste similar to gooseberries but slightly sweeter and can be eaten raw or cooked.

Sun: Sun to partial shade.

Soil: Well-drained, slightly acid soil.

Water: Unlike other berry-producing plants, Jostaberries require quite a bit of water, especially during the first weeks after planting and during fruiting.

Zones: 3 to 8.

Height/Spread: Jostaberry will grow to be about 6 feet tall and 6 feet wide.
